Where The Brazilian Ways began

Before The Brazilian Ways, there was Portuguese with Movies.

The Movie Club is not a new idea added to our catalog. Teaching Portuguese through Brazilian films was the original foundation of our school. For years, we created film guides, podcasts, vocabulary lessons, cultural materials and live discussions around Brazilian cinema.

The new version brings that accumulated experience back in a clearer, more interactive and more flexible format for today’s international community.

Small groups change the quality of the conversation.

The Movie Club is not designed as a crowded webinar. During guided practice, the goal is to have approximately one Brazilian speaker for every two or three students, creating more speaking time, closer interaction and less pressure to compete for attention.

How long will the first new season last?

The fixed structure is four independent films and four live experiences. The priority-list responses will help us decide whether the first season runs across four consecutive weeks or gives students two weeks for each film.

Are the four films connected to one another?

Not necessarily. Each film is an independent learning experience. The selection may include similar genres or themes when possible, but availability, subtitles, legal access and the quality of the learning experience come first.

Can complete beginners participate?

Yes. Beginners can watch with English subtitles, use visual context and focus on essential vocabulary and supported activities. More experienced learners can work with Portuguese subtitles, natural speech, accents, subtext and deeper discussion.

Do you provide the films?

No. We provide guidance on legal streaming, purchase or rental options available for the selected films. The cost of watching or renting the films is not included in the course price.

What happens in the live sessions?
