Camila Meireles is the co-founder and lead educator of The Brazilian Ways, an author of multiple books for international Portuguese learners, and a Brazilian Portuguese teacher with more than 13 years of experience.
For more than a decade, she also worked privately with international students through online teaching platforms, supporting different professions, native languages, levels, personal circumstances, and reasons for learning Portuguese.
Camila remains actively involved in The Brazilian Ways group programs, teaching, curriculum, and academic direction. The mentorship is the only format in which she creates and directs an entire one-to-one Portuguese program for one individual student.
Because every mentorship requires preparation, material development, review, and decisions outside the live sessions, she supports no more than 4 active private mentees at a time.

It may be used as a standalone program or as an intensive individual layer alongside a The Brazilian Ways group course. The introductory rate is reserved for the first 4 accepted private mentorship enrollments.

Before you apply
Is this mentorship completely individual?
Yes. Students do not attend sessions together, share a curriculum, or follow the same plan. Camila creates and directs a separate learning process for each private mentee.
Are both weekly sessions individual?
Yes. Each week includes one 50-minute private Zoom session with Camila and one 50-minute individual guided implementation session with a trained TBW facilitator.
Why is the second session with a facilitator?
Camila directs the learning strategy. The facilitator session adds the repetition, practice, conversation, and implementation required between private sessions. It expands Camila's plan rather than replacing her direction.
What Portuguese level is required?
There is no single required level. The mentorship may support learners at different stages when their objective is clear and the individual format is appropriate for their needs.
Can the mentorship focus on my profession, exam, interview, or deadline?
Yes. The mentorship may focus on specialized professional communication, an exam, certification, interview, presentation, relocation, travel, advanced speaking, or another defined personal goal.
Can I combine the mentorship with a The Brazilian Ways group course?
Yes. The mentorship may be taken as a standalone program or combined with one of our group courses, including the 20-week programs. In that case, the group course continues to provide its structured curriculum, community, cultural learning, and conversation practice, while the mentorship adds an individual plan, targeted feedback, additional practice, and specialized work around your personal goals. Camila may also use what she observes in your group-course progress to help define priorities inside the mentorship.
How are session times and rescheduling handled?
Times are arranged individually according to mutual availability. Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice, subject to availability. Late cancellations are considered used except in genuine emergencies.
How much work is expected between sessions?
The workload depends on your goal and availability. The mentorship is designed for students who can complete meaningful practice between sessions, and Camila establishes a realistic rhythm with each mentee.
What materials and recordings will I receive?
You receive a private online platform with your roadmap, recordings, personalized materials, activities, corrections, resources, and progress documentation organized in one place.
Can I continue after the 13 weeks?
Yes, subject to fit and availability. Current mentees who are progressing well receive priority to renew before a place is offered to another applicant.
Why is an application required?
Camila supports a maximum of 4 active private mentees, and every mentorship requires individual preparation. The application confirms that the goal, expectations, schedule, and level of commitment are aligned before enrollment.
