Can I try a class before enrolling?
Yes. You can book a free trial class before making any payment.
The trial happens inside a real live class, so you can meet our teachers, experience the method, see the group dynamic, and understand if the program is a good fit for you.
It also helps us understand your Portuguese level and recommend the best module and group.
No payment required. No commitment.
How do I know which module is right for me?
Module 01 — Beginner is for complete beginners, early learners, and students who know a few words but still cannot speak comfortably.
Module 02 — Intermediate is for students who already understand basic grammar and can form simple sentences, but need more speaking practice, vocabulary, confidence, and structure.
Module 03 — Beyond Intermediate is for students who can already communicate in many situations but want more fluency, nuance, confidence, and natural Brazilian Portuguese.
If you are not sure, contact us or book a free trial class. We can help you choose the best group for your level and goals.
Can I change modules if the level is not right for me?
Yes. If you start in one module and realize it is too easy or too challenging, contact us.
When there is space available, we can help you move to a better-fit group, such as moving from Module 01 to Module 02, or from Module 02 to Module 03.
Our goal is for you to be in the group where you can participate, learn, and make real progress.
Can I change groups if my schedule does not work?
Yes, when another compatible group is available.
If your schedule changes or your original class time stops working for you, contact us. We may be able to move you to another group at the same level or help you find a better schedule.
Group changes depend on availability, level, and class capacity.
What if I miss a class?
All live classes are recorded and uploaded within 72 hours.
If you miss a class, you can watch the recording, follow the weekly materials, and continue with the program.
When possible, you may also be able to attend another compatible class happening that same week. This depends on your level, the class topic, and space availability.
What time zone do you use?
All classes follow NY Time.
We use New York as our official reference so schedules stay consistent and easier to follow.
When daylight saving time changes in different countries, your local time may shift in relation to New York. The official class time will always remain based on NY Time.
Before enrolling, check what the class time will be in your location.
How much time should I study each week?
At minimum, you should attend your weekly live class and complete the homework.
For stronger progress, we recommend also reviewing the recording, using the platform materials, and practicing a little throughout the week.
The program gives you structure, but consistency is what makes the biggest difference.
What is included in the program?
The program includes weekly live classes, small-group instruction, Brazilian teachers and facilitators, real conversation practice, class recordings, platform activities, homework, bonus materials, WhatsApp support, and guidance throughout the 20 weeks.
The goal is to give you structure, practice, feedback, and accountability.
Is this a self-paced course?
No. This is a live small-group program.
The platform materials help you review and practice between classes, but the main experience is live and interactive, with weekly classes, speaking practice, recordings, homework, and support.
What if none of the available groups work for my schedule?
If none of the current groups work for you, contact us at contact@thebrazilianways.com.
Depending on demand, we may be able to open a new group, create a new schedule, or let you know when a better option becomes available.
New groups open regularly, and we use student demand to decide future schedules.

I have tried apps (Duolingo, Babbel, etc) and tried reading grammar books just to be either frustrated, unmotivated or only learning words and not how to structure sentences and phrases. Upon taking the course, doing the work and going back over the recordings of class and ordering Camila’s book from Amazon, I not only started to understand the structure, but with her and the other Brazilian instructors you get a true sense of the language. I am married to a Brazilian and actually live in Brazil, with all the Portuguese speakers around me, I still did not understand or feel like I was learning the language until I took Brazilian Ways course. I would highly recommend this class to anyone wishing to learn Portuguese!
As a relative beginner (only knowing basic phrases from 5 months in Brasil, but with no formal lessons) the 5 month course was the perfect introduction to learning a language in my opinion. It blends structured learning with natural conversation really well. We normally spend just the right amount of time on grammar at the start of each class , before breakout rooms where we can practice applying the grammar principles in real life scenarios which is really useful - and the smaller size of the breakout rooms makes it very comfortable to ask any questions. With other language classes Ive done in french the teacher can spend too much time on grammar leading to the class becoming very tiring. The biggest thing for me is that we're given a freedom and confidence to speak, even if we dont get everything perfect first time, this really improved my ability to communicate with Brasileiros instead of getting stuck on tiny details. My favourite thing about the course is definitely the Brazilian Way's 'community feel'. The atmosphere is really good to learn in, we cover fun topics like iconic Brazilian movies and music, and having the two whatsapp groups as a resource to learn more about Brazilian culture from Brazilians , share stories, and see other Gringo's experiences learning or living in Brasil is really cool!
