Learn together
Your teacher introduces the week’s language with a clear purpose: what it means, how Brazilians use it and what you will be able to do with it.
Join a live online Brazilian Portuguese course built around real conversation, weekly structure, small-group practice, and native Brazilians in the room. Start speaking from your first class and build toward greater confidence and independence over 20 weeks.
Each week gives you the structure to understand what you are saying, the guided practice to try it, and the human interaction that turns a lesson into real communication. You do not wait until you feel “ready” to speak. Speaking is part of how you become ready.
By the end of the 20 weeks, students who attend the classes and complete the activities should be able to create their own sentences, understand more real Portuguese and participate in conversations with greater independence.
Your teacher introduces the week’s language with a clear purpose: what it means, how Brazilians use it and what you will be able to do with it.
Breakout rooms create more speaking time. Native Brazilian facilitators guide the activity, answer questions and help you keep the conversation moving.
Your platform gives you a guided path between classes. Depending on your module and the week, that may include podcasts, transcripts, stories, connected activities, grammar review, pronunciation, vocabulary, cultural lessons and class recordings.
Different starting levels and weekly schedules are available.
Twenty weeks can give you a strong practical foundation: enough structure to create your own sentences, understand more of what you hear and participate instead of watching the conversation happen around you.
The live class is the center of the program, but your Portuguese does not stop when Zoom ends. Depending on your module and the week, the platform guides you through listening, reading, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, culture and review so you always know what to work on next.
Most classes run 60 to 90 minutes with your teacher, classmates and trained native Brazilian facilitators.
Breakout-room practice creates more time to speak, ask questions and use the week’s Portuguese with real people.
Materials are organized by week so you know what to listen to, read, review and practice instead of building your own plan.
Train your ear with podcasts and, when provided, transcripts. Read stories built around everyday life, relationships, humor and Brazilian situations, with activities connected to what you read.
Review structures, sounds and useful vocabulary as part of the Portuguese you are hearing, reading and using—not as disconnected lists.
Guided study may include Brazilian music and cultural lessons. Class recordings, platform access and private WhatsApp support help you stay connected throughout the program.
Choose a live group that fits your week.
Camila Meireles, co-founder of The Brazilian Ways, created and structured the program from more than 13 years of teaching Brazilian Portuguese to international learners.
Your weekly experience also includes qualified teachers and trained native facilitators. They come from different regions and backgrounds, so your contact with Portuguese is not limited to one voice, one accent or one version of Brazil.
Your module is based on the Portuguese you can already understand and use—not simply on how long you have studied. The exact materials vary by group and week, but the progression is clear. You do not need to diagnose your own level; a free trial can help us recommend the right starting point.
For complete beginners, early learners and students who want to strengthen important foundations before moving forward.

These students joined with different histories and goals. What they found in common was structure, speaking time and a community where trying Portuguese felt possible.
“I am married to a Brazilian and actually live in Brazil. With all the Portuguese speakers around me, I still did not understand or feel like I was learning the language until I took The Brazilian Ways course. With Camila and the other Brazilian instructors, you get a true sense of the language.”
“The five-month course blends structured learning with natural conversation really well. We spend the right amount of time on grammar before breakout rooms, where we apply it in real-life scenarios. The biggest thing for me was the freedom and confidence to speak without getting stuck on tiny details.”
“Taking Brazilian Ways has been one of the most welcoming and inspiring learning experiences I have ever had. The team is patient, attentive and dedicated to helping every student understand the material. Brazilian Ways is not just a class. It is a community.”

You can enter at a level that reflects what you can currently understand and communicate. You do not need to begin with Module 1. A trial class can help us recommend the best group.
Live classes are recorded and added to the platform. When another compatible group has space, you may also request to attend that group’s session during the same week. Alternative attendance depends on level, topic and availability.
Most classes last between 60 and 90 minutes. Some cultural topics may use an extended or double session; those dates are communicated in the course calendar.
New York is the official reference for every group, which keeps the weekly schedule consistent. The page converts that schedule to your location automatically. Because countries begin and end daylight-saving time on different dates, your corresponding local time can occasionally shift while the official New York time remains unchanged.
When another compatible group has space, we can help you move because of level or schedule. Changes depend on class capacity and where each group is in the curriculum.
