Brazilians and WhatsApp: Hidden Meanings in Everyday Messages

WhatsApp is one of the most important spaces for communication in Brazil. It is where Brazilians make plans, send voice messages, build relationships, avoid conflict, say things indirectly, and often communicate much more than the words on the screen.

In this course, you will learn how Brazilians actually use WhatsApp in real life. We will look at voice messages, emojis, “kkkk,” short replies, long messages, group chats, being left on read, indirect messages, and the small choices that can completely change the tone of a conversation.
