A format we have already tested
Our first season explored Mamonas Assassinas song by song.
The previous edition included a podcast for each song, lyric explanations, translations, cultural notes and live classes where students listened, learned and discussed the language inside the album.
The next version may change in length, structure and activities, but it will build on the materials and experience we already have.

The next format is not yet fixed, but the live component will remain teacher-led and didactic. Students will receive explanations, guided listening, language practice and opportunities to use what they are learning.

Is enrollment open now?
No. The current page is for the priority list only. The next album, dates, duration, class schedule and price have not yet been confirmed.
What is the main idea of The Brazilian Music Club?
Each season is designed around one Brazilian album. Students use the songs as material for learning Portuguese through guided listening, language explanations, podcasts, activities, cultural context and live classes.
Do I need to understand the songs before the classes?
No. The course is meant to teach Portuguese through the songs. Preparation may help, but the live classes and materials should provide the explanations and support students need to participate.
Will the next season have the same format as the previous one?
Not necessarily. The first season focused on Mamonas Assassinas and included song-by-song podcasts, translations, explanations and live classes. The next version may be adapted based on the album, the team’s planning and the responses from the priority list.
Can beginners participate?
The final level range and group organization have not yet been confirmed. The priority-list form will help us understand the levels represented and the amount of English, translation and language support students may need.
Does joining the priority list reserve a seat?
No. Joining is free and does not require payment or enrollment. It gives you early access to the confirmed course information when the relaunch is ready.
